It was game on for Louboutin’s SS21 show
Paris at your fingertips... Millennial gaming app Zepeto brought Louboutin's latest collection to life.
Fashion weeks across the world have been rocked by Coronavirus, and this month’s Paris shows were no exception.
For designers, creating new and innovative ways to showcase their collections isn’t out of the ordinary. In fact it’s to be expected. Which in this new age of uncertainty and unconventional solution can only be a good thing.
So when we were told of Christian Louboutin’s plan to bring the world to Paris, all through their phones, the team at The Modems were very excited.
The Modems founder, Natalie Salmon and Mr Christian Louboutin
This season, Louboutin’s SS21 collection was presented entirely through the gaming app Zepeto (a hugely popular game amongst gen Z, particularly in Asia, and quickly growing in the US and Europe).
Attendees of the SS21 show were invited to create their own super stylish avatar on Zepeto so they could attend the in-game fashion show. The setting was Paris, as you’ve never seen it before, entirely digitised.
Whilst in-game, attendees were shown a presentation of Louboutins SS21 collection which included kitten heels, chunky sandals and the most incredible suede fringed boots we’ve ever seen.
Here’s our founder Natalie Salmon taking a look at them all via her Zepeto avatar designed exclusively for the show.
Not too dissimilar to the cute high fashion crossover seen on Animal Crossing, Zepeto’s crossing over into the world of fashion follows a growing trend of fashion and gaming collaborations.
Other stylish gaming ventures include Louis Vuitton’s partnership with League of Legends, Burberry’s B Bounce game and digital styling app Drest.
