‘Sex and The City’ is making everyone cancel their Peloton subscriptions
After ‘And Just Like That’ attributed the death of one of their main characters to Peloton, it wiped £1 billion off the company's value

Online searches for 'Cancel Peloton Subscription' exploded by 809% in the United States after Peloton bikes were featured on the newly released Sex and the City sequel series ‘And Just Like That.’ In a huge shock for SATC fans, Mr Big suffering a fatal heart attack after using the equipment.
UPDATE: Peloton have responded in a hilarious video they posted on Instagram, featuring Chris North who plays Mr Big. In a tongue in cheek response featuring the instructor who caused the ‘demise’ of Mr Big the clip shows North having a conversation with the Peloton instructor, where he says “to new beginnings” and asks her if they “should take another ride.” Peloton used Ryan Reynolds as the narrator, and he explains to the audience “and just like that… the world was reminded that regular cycling improves your heart lungs and circulation.”
The analysis of Google search data conducted by MapleCasino revealed that online interest for cancelling Peloton subscriptions skyrocketed to over eight times the average volume in the first few hours after the show was released to HBOMax on the 10th of October. Peloton stocks also plummeted by 16% after the show aired.
"Product placements are one of the most lucrative forms of advertising for any company and to be featured on one of the most highly anticipated series of the year is a dream for any company. However, these findings highlight the importance of using product placement correctly as this has certainly backfired. To use a named product as a cause of a beloved characters death can hardly create reassurance in customers on product safety." A spokesperson for MapleCasino commented in an official statement.
Google searches for 'Peloton Safety' rose 733% since 08:00am pacific time on the 10th of December while simultaneously searches for the hit show ‘And Just Like That’ rose 488% in the subsequent days.
